Match Report

A crossover quarter-final, where the 1st ranked team in one pool meets the 4th ranked team in the other pool, the score line was never going to be flattering.

WAC played really well and tested the NSW processes in the first half, defending with 11 men behind the ball and breaking down waves of NSW attacks. Conversely, NSW did not play smart hockey and a 2-0 score line at half time was a fair representation of the match.

In the second half, NSW stuck to their processes better and with WAC tiring after so much defensive pressure, they wilted and conceded another 6 goals. Their keeper made some exceptionally good saves to deny NSW further goals.

Thanks to WAC for the spirit they played the match. With no cards being given during the game, and no injuries, it was obvious that the spirit of masters hockey was the winner on the day.
