Match Report
Sydney versus Metro South West is a local derby, and as with all local derbies, brings out the best in both teams.
Both teams attacked from the outset, using sweeping attacks down both flanks to try to penetrate the defense. While both teams got plenty of circle pentrations, shots on goal were rare.
Teaj Sian and Claude Matthews both received two minute suspensions for clumsy tackles in the first half, but neither team was able to take advantage of their numerical advantage, and the scoreboard was not bothered during the first half.
Sydney broke the deadlock seven minutes into the second half, when Kamal Naqvi scored on the end of an attacking foray from Sydney.
Neither team could secure many penalty corners, and the scored remained 1-0 for ther rest of the game, resulting in Sydney grabbing all 3 points from what was a tight contest.
