Training Day

Training Day
| Mark Matheson
Friday dawned fine and clear, after Thursday had turned cold and wet.

With 24 hours until our first game, the boys turned up at training ready to go. With only two players absent due to work and family commiments, the team were fully decked out in our sponsors warm up shirt.

Injuries all managed. strapped and massaged, Jonno ran a great training session. Deciding to finish the last 20 minutes against the 40/3's, the Waratahs showed they had started to come together really well, with some great transition from defence to attack, and looking like a cohesive unit.

After enjoying a laxy afternoon to ourselves, we all got together again for our first official team dinner at the Shaws Bay Hotel. Given the number of hockey players present, it's apparent that the Shawsy is going to be the place to be during the course of these championships.

With ten of the sixteen players in the side enjoying their first time representing NSW, I took great pride in presenting the players with their caps. We are now officially Waratahs!

There is no easing into the championships for the Waratahs, Queensland is first up on Saturday. I am confident that the Waratahs will be bringing their A game!
